Why Low Power Turbines?

The PRV Problem

A classic example is when an industrial facility uses PRVs (pressure reducing valves) to reduce steam parameters. These units reduce pressure and temperature but perform no useful work.

Installing a steam turbine in parallel with a PRV allows performing the same parameter reduction work while generating electricity from "free" steam.
